In a magnetic drive pump, an external magnet assembly is directly connected to the shaft of the electric motor.
The operating principle of a magnetic drive pump is based on magnetic coupling transmission.
The rotational motion generated by the motor is transferred synchronously to the rotor, composed of the internal magnet and the impeller, through the magnetic field created by the external magnet.
The external magnet and internal magnet do not physically touch. Torque transmission occurs exclusively through the magnetic field, ensuring contact-free power transfer.
The impeller, which is integral with the internal magnet, rotates around a stationary shaft, allowing the pumped liquid to flow through the hydraulic section of the pump.
The entire hydraulic part is hermetically sealed. Between the external and internal magnet assemblies, there is a rear containment casing, which is fixed to the pump casing and acts as a barrier. This containment shell prevents the pumped fluid from escaping to the outside, guaranteeing a fully sealed and safe pumping system.
The sealless design guarantees total containment of the pumped liquid, eliminating leakage and fugitive emissions. This is essential when handling corrosive chemicals, flammable, explosive or hazardous fluids, ensuring maximum protection for both operators and the environment.
